Seen from Carl Side, on Skiddaw, on one of those hot days when haze obscures details and dims overall light levels whilst retaining the clarity of even distant hill silhouettes.

A cloud of at least thirty paragliders had gathered over Little Man as we started walking from Millbeck, but by the time we were approximately level with them at ~725 m, a couple had broken away to explore more widely.

Beyond Braithwaite village, ~5 km away, the nearest ridge ascends off the right of the image towards Crag Hill, passing the subsidiary summits of Barrow, Stile End and Outerside. The next ridge beginds at Rowling End at the extreme left, then Causey Pike beneath the lower paraglider, then Scar Crags at the right, before proceeding off the edge of the image towards Sail and, again, Crag Hill.

The lower paraglider neatly marks a divide in the valleys beyond.
To the left is the upper Newlands Valley, with Robinson at its head, whilst the ridge of Littledale Edge extends left to Hindscarth.
Robinson is at the head of the Newlands Pass; to the right of the paraglider, the other side of the pass descends to Buttermere. On the far side of the lake is the next ridge, linking High Crag and High Stile.

The next valley is upper Ennerdale, its far side dominated by Pillar and Steeple; I think that may be Haycock beyond at the extreme right. That valley continues across the full width of the image (and further!), with Kirk Fell at the extreme left.
In the gap between Kirk Fell and Pillar is Looking Stead, then Stirrup Crag overlooking Wasdale Head; the steep south-eastern side of Wasdale is visible beyond, 25 km away.
